Ice caving equipment, certified glacier guide,
Come on a Super Jeep to witness one of the world’s rarest natural phenomenon: a Blue Ice Cave in this fantastic winter experience in Vatnajökull National Park in Southern Iceland departs from Jökulsárlón, the glacier lagoon. This stunning phenomenon is a must see for anyone visiting Iceland during wintertime and one of Iceland’s most famous tours. During this tour, you’ll be standing inside an ancient glacier that holds a natural blue ice cave with different shades of blue colors and formations.
You will meet your guide at the parking lot of Jökulsárlón, the glacier lagoon. From there, you will enter the Super Jeep and drive for about 15 minutes to reach the mighty ice cave. Afterwards, your guide will show you how to put on the crampons, steel frames which are tied to your hiking boots and make it possible for you to walk on the glacier before you reach the world-famous blue ice cave.
Your guide will introduce you in detail to the history of the glacier and tell you how this rare natural phenomenon occurs and why is it almost only found in Iceland, the land of ice and fire.
